​South East Governors Receives the Body of late Ekwueme  in Enugu

The governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano in company of other SouthEast Governors, the President General, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo and other dignitaries this afternoon  received the deceased, Late former Vice-president, Dr Alex Ekwueme ,at the Akanu Ibiam International airport Enugu.
The body of the Elder statesman was flown to Enugu on board a Nigerian Airforce Aircraft, NAF-918. 

The aircraft bearing the chocolate-coloured casket in which the remains of the Late Vice-President was contained, had touched down at the airport at exactly 2:09 pm accompanied by family members led by the deceased younger brother who is the traditional ruler of Oko, Igwe Laz Ekwueme. 

On its arrival, the Archbishop of Enugu Province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese, The Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma blessed the corpse and prayed God for smooth rites of final passage for the departed elder statesman. 

He further prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased. 

Gov Obiano and other of his colleagues namely,  Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state,Gov Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state and Gove Rochas Okorocha later to paid their last respect to the late Dr Ekwueme. 
The body of the Late Former Vice-president, Dr Alex Ekwueme who died on the 19th of November, 2017 in a London Hospital, is due in the state on Thursday, 1st of next month.
