Goodluck Jonathan’s personal doctor accused of N61m contract scam
 Dr Fortune Fiberesima who served as Jonathan’s doctor is facing charges from the EFCC

– The doctor is accused of using his position to awards contracts

– He has pleaded guilty to all the charges

Dr Fortune Fiberesima who served as the personal physician to former president, Goodluck Jonathan, is being implicated in a contract which he allegedly awarded using his top position.Daily Trust reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented two witnesses against the former president’s physician when he was arraigned before Justice Peter Affen of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama on a 6-count charge of abuse of office.The two witnesses were a former director of procurement at the State House, Aminu Abubakar and a staff of the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Rukiyat OdekunleThe duo said the contracts have been executed and payment processes were completed.According to the witnesses, one contract was awarded to Messrs. TE and C Limited in the sum of N25 million for the purpose of land reclamation while Messrs Ibomaedomi and Company received N36 million for supply of medical consumables at the State House medical centre.Dr Fiberesima is being accused of misusing his position to award contracts that he had interests

 Ming.com  had reported that when he was arraigned, the physician pleaded not guilty to the charges.against him by the EFCC.Part of the charges read: “That you , Dr Fortunate Fiberesima (a.k.a Fortunate David and David Thank God Fiberesima), being the Former Chief Executive Office of the state House Medical Centre, Abuja and Chief Physician to the President and while employed in the public service, sometime in 2012, in Abuja, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, knowingly and directly held a private interest in the contract for land reclamation at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja in the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Eight Million, Nine Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N258,950,000.00), which contract was awarded to T. E & C Limited, a company in which you were a director, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 12 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.”
