100 million dollars value of Dbanj’s CREAM Platform confirmed
Recently, Nigeria’s multi-talented music star, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known as D’banj held fans and colleagues spellbound after posting that his web-based music company, CREAM Platform has grossed over 100 million dollars barely a year of its establishment.The Kokomaster, who used his Instagram account to make the announcement, wrote that he established the company in July 2016 as an expressive platform for budding talents in Africa and the world, and that it had been estimated to worth over $100 million an approximate sum of 35 billion naira in one year.While some fans were critical about the figures, Mr Harold Olamilokun, the head of Digital, DKM Media Ltd, has put the record straight.Olamilokun in a brief chat with an online source authenticated the figures stating that the audit was done by one of the world’s leading providers of Audit, Tax and Advisory services, KPMG.He said that ‘in August 2016, D’banj launched THE C.R.E.A.M PLATFORM, a subscription-based digital platform for customers which avails them the opportunity to develop, actualize, get mentored and sell their creative content fully financed by the platform when chosen as winners.”He added that “the platform has shot various music videos for deserving artists in the last one year on the Merit Section.”And that “Content selected from the Merit Section has been distributed through DKM’s network and has generated over 150 million naira in gross revenue.’He said by just dialling a USSD code on a mobile phone, an artiste could become one of the subscribers of the fastest growing digital paying platform in Africa.According to him, as at May 2017, the platform had over 3 million subscribers and has thousands of content from the music category alone.’Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear for the release of D’banj’s new album ‘KingDonCome’ He is expected in Nigeria for the album launch.
