149 stranded Nigerians return from Libya

Another batch of 149 Nigerians that had been stranded in Libya yesterday returned to Lagos, courtesy of the repatriation effort of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
 
Their flight, Boeing 737-800 with registration number 5A-DMG, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, at 6:35 p.m. On board were 29 adult females, 115 adult males and five children.

Yesterday’s batch brings the total number of stranded Nigerians brought back to the country to 975 in the last five weeks.The returnees were received by NEMA officials, with the support of the Edo State Government Task Force Against Human Trafficking, NAPTIP, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Police.The agency appealed to parents to discourage their wards from travelling out of the country as the only option to get better life.
