Anambra APC guber form goes for N5.5m
…may pick Aug 12 for primary
Following the publication of the timetable for the November 18, 2017 Anambra governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), there are indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would hold its primary to select who among the party’s 14 aspirants would pick the ticket on or around Aug 12, 2017.Taking a cue from the INEC schedule which indicated that primaries could commence from Aug 5, 2017, the party is also set to announce the commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to the governorship aspirants.The party has also set the cost of securing the Expression of Interest form at N500, 000, while the Nomination form was set at N5 million.This was confirmed on Saturday by one of the key aspirants, Chief George Moghalu; who further expressed his readiness to pick his forms within the week. Besides touring the 326 electoral wards and the 21 local councils meeting with the respective executives who are the statutory delegates to the primary, the purchase, completion and return of the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms within the stipulated timeframe by each aspirant appeared to be one of the most important aspects of the gubernatorial process.
Efforts to speak with the state party chairman, Mr. Emeka Ibe yielded no positive result as his phone rang on end without response, and he did not return any of the several calls, all day long. Also the state Publicity Secretary, Mr. Okelo Madukaife did not respond or return his calls either.
