Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus after they matched the Serie A champions’s asking price of €70m (£61.2m), according to reports in Italy.

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera is claiming that the Blues are finally close to being able to announce their first signing of the summer.

Sandro has been heavily linked with a transfer to Stamford Bridge in recent days as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his options at full-back ahead of next season.

And it now appears that Chelsea could be set to get their man as they close in on the signing of the 26-year-old Brazilian.

It is also claimed in the same article that Sandro has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of his proposed transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of new players this summer but have not yet been able to confirm the signing of any reinforcements.

Conte is likely to be keen to add significant depth to his Chelsea squad as the Blues prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.
