Conte makes confession about Mikel

Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte on Friday made a confession about John Obi Mikel and some former players that have left the London club.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Sunday’s derby clash against Tottenham, Conte admitted that Chelsea is missing the services of his former strong players that formed the base at the club

”We need time to work, to improve. I thought this season would be difficult, we lost a lot of strong players that built

a strong bases

,” Conte stated.

”Terry, Mikel, Ivanovic, and now we need to find the right way to build and it’s right to know we must have

patience

to build for the future.”

Indeed, Chelsea

are

lacking squad depth at the moment, with several of their former stars either sold or loaned out, and they were made to look so ordinary by Burnley on the opening day of the season.

Mikel, one of the longest serving Chelsea players in recent time recorded 381 appearances for the Blues in all competitions before making a switch to Chinese club Tianjin Teda in the January transfer window.

It is worthy to note that the coming of Conte

hasten the exit of Mikel who never got a chance to prove himself to the Italian gaffer.
