Victor Moses added to Conte’s injury concerns when he limped off with an apparent hamstring issue in the first half – shortly before Wilfried Zaha scored the goal that condemned Chelsea to a 2-1 loss, their second straight Premier League defeat.

With the west Londoners hosting Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday, Conte is set to be without at least three of his players in Moses, N’Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater although Alvaro  Morata could win his fitness race in time to feature at Stamford Bridge.

Nevertheless, Conte admitted after the loss to Palace that his team must now fight 150 per cent to try and win games without some of their key men in the side. “It’s a difficult moment for us,” Conte told reporters. “We started without Kante and during the game, Moses,  another important player had an injury.

“I hope to have him back very soon. But to lose three important players – it’s a big problem for us. We must find the will to fight. This season will be very difficult – we must put in 150 per cent.” When then asked which of his players could return for the visit of Roma, Conte replied: “For sure Moses is out because he’s injured and I don’t know if it’s a serious one. I hope not. If it’s not, he’s still out. “Morata… I hope to have him back for this game.”
