Nigerians mock Dino Melaye over anti-corruption book.

Perhaps you are aware already that the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, recently gave Nigerians a book to strengthen the fight against corruption in the country. The controversial lawmaker launched a 600- page book entitled, Antidotes for Corruption:The Nigerian Story earlier this week but with Nigeria’s anti-graft agencies conspicuously absent at the presentation. Prominent at the occasion were former first lady, Patience Jonathan; Senate President Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige.Others include former Speaker of the House; Ghali Na’aba; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Anyim Pius Anyim, several senators among others. But Nigerians on social media have not found the entire arrangement funny and have hit out at Melaye, an unrepentant disciple of Saraki who is still on trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, for what they considered his effrontery to write a book on, of all things, corruption. Commenting on the matter, @AdeBanqie wrote:“Patience Jonathan is Guest of honour at a book launch, titled Antidotes for Corruption, by Dino Melaye. Jesus, when are you coming back?” Also making his opinion known on Twitter, Majestic Eagle@Mudi1012 wrote: “Dino Melaye using tomato sellers as example of corruption during his book launch.Tomato sellers.” For Sunday Sampson @sunie316, “@dino_ melaye likes to talk about or write on issues he knows little to nothing about. Antidotes for Corruption will keep him in the news.” Going a step further, @BENJAMINGEORGE1 wrote:“I will tell my children,Dt during my time Corruption decided not to only fight back but also LAUNCHED a book. Interesting times.” On a comical note, @odafrica said: “Dino Melaye writing a book on antidotes for corruption is like Arsene Wenger writing a book on how to win UEFA Champions League!!!”
