Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano yesterday announced automatic employment for 17 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state for their one year national service. The corps members, comprising of 10 members of 2015 Batch ‘B’ and seven 2016 Batch ‘A’ corps members, were also rewarded with cash donations and laptops for distinguishing themselves during their service year.
The corps member who came first in the Community Development Service projects, got the cash sum of N200,000, plus a laptop, while the second and third positions, also got laptops as well as cash sums of N150,000 and N100,000 respectively. Addressing the entire NYSC members in the state at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka, the governor said the awards were in recognition of the outstanding performances of the awardees in the course of their national assignment.
