The police high command yesterday paraded six suspected killers of a lawyer, barrister Sheriff Yazid and the kidnap for ransom of his wife along the busy Abuja-Kaduna highway.
The suspects include, Adamu Tukur alias Ado, 25 years and the gang leader, Ahmadu Bala aka Basso, 30yrs, Bello Sule alias Yellow Kachalla, 29yrs.
Others are, Hamza Sulaiman alias Katsinawa 29yrs, Sulaiman Abubakar, 25yrs and Nuhu Ahmadu, 30yrs old.
Parading the suspects yesterday, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP, Jimoh Moshood said the Special Intelligence Response Team (SIRT) led the operation with other Police detachments of Operation Absolute Sanity, trailed and arrested the kidnappers at their hideouts located around tollgates, Kakau, Sabon gayan and Rijana axis in Kaduna.
Items recovered from them include, 1 AK47 Rifle, motorcycle used for the kidnap, cutlasses, sticks, charms and 30 rounds of AK47 ammunition.
“Investigation is being intensified to arrest other suspects at large. All suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation,” he said.
He, however, assured Nigerians that the Police IG has directed the AIGs and Commissioners of Police in zones and commands to beef up security in their area of responsibilities.
