Three dead, six injured in Kogi accident

Another ghastly motor accident has claimed lives of three persons in Ochadamu, Ofu Local Council of Kogi State. Six persons also sustained various degrees of injury.

The accident caused a major traffic gridlock for several hours.

Last week, a reporter with the African Independent Television, (AIT), Abdullahi Ibrahim, alongside his family members died at the same spot.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kogi State,, Olusegun Martins, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja yesterday, said that the accident occurred on Sunday morning.

According to him, nine persons were involved in the accident, but six persons sustained different degrees of injury while three people died on the spot.

A Toyota bus, a car and two trailers loaded with cement were involved in the road accident, said the FRSC officer.

The victims were taken to Kogi State University Teaching Hospital, Anyigba in Dekina Local Council of the state .

Ibrahim attributed the accident to reckless driving.

He cautioned desist from wrongful overtaking and over speeding, especially at the ‘ember months.
